Our Process

Step 1

Make the call

You will always speak to a live person who understands how hard it is to take that first step. We offer Mental Health, primary and relapse addiction treatment in addition to a specialized track for First Responder Mental Health and Addiction Treatment.

Step 2

Confirm Insurance

A member of the Harbor of Grace staff will gather some basic demographic information and details on any health insurance coverage you may have. We’ll also want to learn more about you or your loved one and why you are considering mental health or addiction treatment. We will take as much time as you need to tell you about the Harbor of Grace experience and what you can expect.

Step 3

Information Gathering

We will immediately contact your insurance company to verify benefits and call you back promptly to discuss what, if any, your financial responsibility for treatment will be. After gathering some additional information about your personal, medical and substance use history, we will recommend the level of care that is best suited for your unique needs.

Step 4

Coordinate transportation

Once all of your questions have been answered, we will schedule your arrival at Harbor of Grace Enhanced Recovery Center. If you are joining us from another treatment facility, we will coordinate transportation directly with that facility on your behalf. You have done the heavy lifting simply by committing to the next step on your recovery journey. The least we can do is make that as easy as possible. If a family member is bringing you to Havre de Grace or if we need to pick you up at home, at the train station, or at the airport, we will make it happen.

We are here for you

Once you arrive at our Havre de Grace campus, you will spend time with our Nursing staff and Program Aides, getting to know us and giving us a chance to get to know you better. We’ll take care of some standard paperwork and process any previously agreed upon payments. You will be driven to your residence and checked into your suite. You will be introduced to the other members of the Harbor of Grace patient community and your treatment will begin. As quickly as your physical health indicates, you will meet with our medical director for a brief assessment and a review of current prescription medications. If you need a new prescription filled or an existing one refilled, Harbor of Grace staff will take care of that for you while you are getting settled.

Everyone who works at Harbor of Grace Enhanced Recovery Center knows how scary and uncomfortable admission for mental health or substance abuse addiction treatment can be. We are committed to making this step in your recovery as comfortable and easy as possible.
