Clinical Aides

Clinical Aides (CA’s) are in direct contact with the patient community.

The CA provides transportation and direct supervision of patient activities. The CA assists with office duties and other daily operational tasks.  They play a key role in assisting the clinical and medical staff with the clinical program and acts as a liaison to the patient community.

Shannon Alexander – Licensed Personal Trainer and Certified Group Fitness Instructor

Fitness has been an integral part of Shannon’s life for over 30 years. She believes that exercise not only has physical effects on the body but, more importantly, is a total mental and emotional boost as well. Overall wellness starts at the gym with conditioning, strengthening and endurance and stretching. It produces a sense of relaxation. People can take these skills and resources and further incorporate them in their daily lives to help develop healthy coping mechanisms.

As a child of addicts, Shannon has been touched by this disease her entire life and has watched the winding road of recovery for those afflicted. She is anxious to help others find a healthy outlet by choosing the course towards full body and mind wellness.
Shannon is a Licensed Personal Trainer and Certified Group Fitness Instructor. Her certifications include yoga, Pilates, R.I.P.P.E.D., TRX, Kettlebell Piyo and Kick Boxing.

Holistic Therapy

SueEyet-2Sue Eyet – Artist and Art Therapy Coordinator

Sue has decades of experience as an artist and teacher across a wide range of mediums. She is an expert basketmaker, beader, jewelry designer, and metalsmith. She was the featured artist for the book “The Fine Art of the Tin Can”. Sue is a commissioned artist for The American Visionary Art Museum, featured Book Artist for “Found Object Art II”, and “Fabulous Woven Jewelry”, and commissioned artist for the Governor of Maryland Art Award. Sue was the Resident Artist & Art Services Coordinator at Father Martin’s Ashley for several years. Sue feels grateful to have helped thousands of courageous folks to rediscover their creative spirit through art therapy while traveling the road to recovery. Sue is an active member of the Cecil County Arts Council.

TonyGaenz-2Anthony F. Saenz – Licensed Acupuncturist

Tony is an acupuncturist and herbalist currently living and working in Havre de Grace, Maryland. Since 2010, Tony has treated hundreds of patients, volunteered as an acupuncturist at the Serenity Center in Howard County and Penn North in Baltimore – seeing people come to a personal place of ease without substances. In Havre de Grace, he has shared the benefits of acupuncture with local residents with varying conditions ranging in age from 3 to 84.

In his daily life, Tony practices being gentler with himself and others. He views symptoms and challenges as learning opportunities, rather than obstacles. His medicine supports wellness in mind, body and spirit so a person can live into their divine purpose.

Tony is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and the Maryland University of Integrative Health, where he is currently pursuing his Doctorate of Oriental Medicine. After traveling to over 80 countries while working as a military officer and defense contractor, Tony has called Havre de Grace his home for over 13 years.


Linda L. Smith, LCPC – Equine Therapist

Linda is a licensed therapist, holding an M.A. and a certificate of Advanced Study in Counseling from Loyola College. After many years in “traditional”, private practice, Linda saw a need for a different type of counseling experience, and founded Leg-Up Counseling in 2005. Linda has over 25 years of counseling experience and life-long horse experience; the healing, honest nature of horses made EAP a natural choice of study and practice. In addition to EAP, Linda also specializes in stress and anxiety management, vocational counseling, and short-term resolution focused therapy.


Harbor of Grace continues to admit new patients and can take calls 24/7. The health and safety of our patients and staff remains the top priority. As recommended by the CDC, Harbor of Grace has protocols and procedures put in place due to COVID-19, such as thorough pre-screening measures, a COVID-19 medical screening upon arrival, and limiting exposure to those who are not Harbor of Grace staff and patients. Medical Approval will need to be given by Harbor of Grace medical staff for admission. Due to the pandemic, all patient visitation will be suspended until further notice.
