Born and raised in Fallston, Harford County, MD, Lisa Vaught has dedicated her life to service and family. A graduate of Fallston High School, Lisa began her career as a Police Dispatcher for Baltimore County before joining the Harford County Sheriff’s Office in May 1991. She retired in January 2021 after 30 years of distinguished service with the Harford County Department of Emergency Services. During her career, Lisa also served as an MCEA Union Shop Steward and held various MCEA Officer roles, advocating tirelessly for her colleagues.
In addition to her career in public safety, Lisa continues to serve her community by working part-time at a small animal veterinary clinic in Whiteford, MD. She is a proud mother of three children: Jessica Bishop, a Deputy with the Harford County Sheriff’s Office; Emily Vaught, recently engaged and working with Amazon; and Duane Vaught, who works with Walmart. She is also a devoted grandmother to Leighanne King. Lisa married Edward McCoy, a retired Radio Technician from York County 911, in August 2020, and treasures her role as a “horse show mom,” traveling and supporting her family’s equestrian pursuits with their cherished horse, Cookie.
Now, as a team member at the National Law Enforcement and First Responder Wellness Center at Harbor of Grace, Lisa is proud to bring her expertise and passion to supporting first responders and their families.
