John’s diverse professional career includes working 18 years in both inpatient and outpatient drug/alcohol treatment settings as a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCAD-C). He recently retired from Father Martin’s Ashley, where he worked for 12 years and was involved in all aspects of the treatment process. He developed a proficiency in understanding and lecturing on the neurobiology of addiction, spirituality in recovery and, in particular, the scientific basis of why spirituality reverses damage done by alcohol and drugs. He has been involved in developing treatment programs for young adults and has a strong interest in the present opiate epidemic among young people. He has over thirty year’s experience as corporate executive and small business owner.
